The cornerstone of my photography has always been composition and there’s no better way to play with framing and light and placement of objects than with black and white. Reducing the images to their core concept and framing them to tell a story without color or reality makes for a compelling photograph. Many of these were shot on black and white film, where you must train your eye to see things as they will be processed, not as they are, which requires a certain level of focus in the capture.
